Taliri is a Chrome extension. It changes a few words on the pages you already read into Swedish, German, Hindi, Spanish or French, and shows you what they mean. Later it blurs a word and asks you to pick its meaning.

Memory needs the right interval.

Taliri uses FSRS, a spaced-repetition scheduler, to decide when a word is ready for another question. The question appears when you meet the word again in your reading.

Only verified recall changes the memory schedule. Seeing a word on the page does not.

Taliri reads the text of the page you're on — the part on or near your screen, as you scroll — in the tab's memory, on your device. Page text is never stored and never sent.

You choose where it runs. A built-in list keeps it off mail, banking, documents and payment pages, and it backs off any page that shows a password field.

The extension's only network activity is downloading Taliri's own dictionaries. Your reading and learning happen on your device.

If you press the speaker, your browser's own speech service pronounces that one word; some browsers use an online voice for it.

Website analytics are off. The extension counts nothing.

Does it work on every site?

You choose where it runs: everywhere, selected sites, or only when you click. A built-in list keeps Taliri off sensitive sites, and it backs off pages showing a password field. Some pages don't contain text it can use.

Which pages does it read?

The pages you allow, as you scroll — the text on or near your screen, in the tab's memory. Page text is never stored or sent.

Can I learn from Swedish pages?

Not yet. Today Taliri works with English pages, and helps you learn Swedish, German, Hindi, Spanish or French.

Does it need an account?

No. Install Taliri, choose a language and decide where it can run. Your settings and learning record stay on your device.

Is there a free version?

No. Taliri is $7 a month or $49 a year, with a full refund within 14 days if it isn't for you. Everything you've learned stays yours to practise, even if you later stop paying.

Can I choose monthly or annual billing?

Yes. Both options include all five languages. Annual billing gives you a full year for less than twelve monthly payments.

How is this different from flashcards?

The words meet you in your reading, with their meaning close by. Taliri spaces questions out as you learn. You can also practise words in the extension popup, without making a deck.
